Quick Facts

Location: London

Completion: January 2024

Project Type: Residential Interior

Project Overview:

• Client Need: Thermal improvement

• Property Type: Residential solid wall interior

• Special Requirements: Thermal insulation without the loss of living space

Purpose:

Prevent condensation and black spot mould by installing thermal insulation on the internal side of the external walls in the master bedroom. This method is particularly effective because it helps maintain a warmer surface temperature on the walls, thereby reducing the likelihood of moisture in the air condensing on cooler surfaces. When external walls are inadequately insulated, they can become cold, especially during winter months, leading to a significant temperature differential between the interior air and the wall surfaces. This differential can result in condensation forming on the walls, which not only creates an uncomfortable living environment but also fosters the growth of black spot mould, a common problem in many homes in the UK

Solution Applied:

• Primary Product: Cork spray & CorkWall

• Color Selected: Blanco + Natural

• Additional Materials: Plaster finish coat

Key Benefits:

✓ Enhanced thermal efficiency

✓ Maintain features and living space

✓ Seamless install preventing cold spots

Conclusion:

The dew point has been terminated, moisture in the air is now eliminated, creating a cosier and warmer living space, eliminating black spot mould and cold spots due to cork sprays seamless nature

Result Summary: Successfully installed thermal insulation preventing cold ingress and improving cosier living space in the Master bedroom.

Customer feedback:
